Time to Blossom
A Free Wellbeing Group for Women 45+ in Mansfield
This summer, NIDAS is launching Time to Blossom, a free, six-week wellbeing group for women aged 45 and over. It’s a space to slow down, be heard, and start putting yourself back on your own list.
What is Time to Blossom?
Time to Blossom is a small, confidential group for women 45+ who want to focus on their own wellbeing. Over six weeks, sessions bring together conversation, practical tools and peer support around themes including:
- Domestic abuse awareness — understanding patterns of control and coercion, and knowing what support looks like
- Wellbeing — simple, sustainable ways to look after your mental and emotional health
- Confidence — rebuilding a sense of self that may have been worn down over time
- Self-esteem — recognising your own worth, outside of the roles you play for other people
There’s no pressure to share more than you’re comfortable with. Some women come because they’re navigating the impact of an abusive relationship, past or present. Others come simply because they’ve spent years looking after everyone else and want a space that’s theirs. Both are welcome.

Who is it for?
Time to Blossom is open to any woman aged 45+ in Nottinghamshire who would like support with wellbeing, confidence or self-esteem — whether or not you’ve directly experienced domestic abuse. You don’t need a referral, a diagnosis, or a specific reason to attend. You just need to want to be there.
It may be a good fit if you:
Are rebuilding your life after leaving an unhealthy or abusive relationship
Have noticed your confidence has quietly slipped over the years
Want to connect with other women who understand, without judgement
Are looking for a regular, low-pressure commitment that’s just for you
What to expect
Each week is facilitated in a warm, informal setting — think conversation and connection, not a lecture. Group sizes are kept small so everyone has space to be heard, and everything shared in the room stays confidential.
You don’t need to attend every session to benefit, but coming each week helps build the trust and familiarity that makes the group work.

Why now?
Midlife often brings a quiet kind of invisibility — for women who’ve spent decades as carers, partners, employees and parents, it’s easy to lose track of your own needs entirely. Time to Blossom is a deliberate six weeks to reverse that: to be somewhere your own wellbeing is the whole point, not an afterthought.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to talk about my own experiences?

Is this only for survivors of domestic abuse?
No. The group covers domestic abuse awareness as one of several themes, but it’s open to any woman 45+ who wants support with wellbeing, confidence or self-esteem.
