Healing begins with being heard, seen, and supported. For many women affected by domestic abuse, breaking the silence is the first step. Our Freedom Programme continues to be a life-changing experience for those who take it — offering not just information, but connection, empowerment, and lasting strength.

This powerful message is just one of the many reflections we’ve received from women who have taken part in the programme. And it’s why we’re proud to announce our next Freedom Programme group will start on Thursday, 11th September 2025 in partnership with Nottinghamshire Family Hub Network.

What is the Freedom Programme?

The Freedom Programme is a free, 10-week course designed specifically for women aged 18+ who are currently experiencing or have previously experienced domestic abuse.

The Freedom Programme is a safe, supportive space to explore difficult experiences and rebuild confidence and self-worth. It’s helping women learn more about the reality of domestic abuse, including:

• Examining the role, attitudes and beliefs of a perpetrator, as well as those of the victim and survivor
• Helping women affected by domestic abuse to make sense of and understand what has happened to them
• Discussing how children are affected by being exposed to domestic abuse and how their lives are improved when this is removed

Vital measures are in place to ensure that women taking part in The Freedom Programme will be safe and be fully supported throughout.

 

When and where?

The programme runs every Thursday for 10-weeks from 9.30am – 11.30am.

The next programme starts on 11th Sept until 20th Nov 2025 (2 weeks break during school holidays).

It would be held at

New Woods Family Hub, Barker Avenue, Skegby, NG17 3FQ

Creche facility for children 5 years old and under would be available with limited availability.
