NIDAS at the Ashfield Children and Young People Action Plan Launch
On 24th October 2025, Team NIDAS had the pleasure of attending the Ashfield Children and Young People Action Plan Launch and Wellbeing Event, a fantastic initiative that brought together local partners to improve outcomes for children and young people across Ashfield and Nottinghamshire.
The event created a space for open conversations, shared learning, and collective action. From community organisations and schools to local authorities and wellbeing services, everyone came together with one clear goal to build stronger, safer futures for young people in our area.
A Day of Inspiration and Connection
Our NIDAS staff found the event both inspiring and energising. It was a day filled with creativity, collaboration, and plenty of smiles (not to mention a few cuddles with a very friendly spotty mascot 🐾 who was a definite highlight for everyone!).

The NIDAS team enjoyed meeting so many dedicated professionals and passionate community members who share our commitment to supporting children, young people, and families. Through every conversation, we saw just how much good can happen when local organisations come together to share ideas and resources.
Working Together for Safer, Stronger Futures
At NIDAS (Nottinghamshire Independent Domestic Abuse Services), we know that community partnerships are vital to creating lasting change. Events like the Ashfield Children and Young People Action Plan Launch help us connect with others who are equally passionate about wellbeing, safeguarding, and empowerment.
By working side by side with local partners, we can make sure that children and young people affected by domestic abuse have access to the right support at the right time. Collaboration allows us to identify challenges early, respond effectively, and ensure that every child has the opportunity to thrive.
Behind the Scenes with Team NIDAS
The NIDAS team came away from the event feeling inspired and proud of the growing sense of community in Ashfield and across Nottinghamshire. Our staff shared stories, ideas, and experiences with professionals from education, youth services, and family support teams — all focused on one shared mission: improving wellbeing for local young people.
It was also a chance to highlight how trauma-informed approaches can play a key role in helping children and families recover from difficult experiences. The conversations reinforced how our lottery-funded therapeutic services and outreach programmes complement the aims of the Action Plan, ensuring that no one feels alone on their journey to safety and recovery.
A Shared Vision for the Future
As the day came to a close, one message was clear — change happens when communities come together. The Ashfield Children and Young People Action Plan Launch wasn’t just an event; it was a powerful reminder of what’s possible when people unite around a shared purpose.
At NIDAS, we’re proud to be part of that collective effort. We’ll continue working alongside partners across Ashfield, Mansfield, and wider Nottinghamshire to ensure that children, young people, and families can access compassionate, trauma-informed support when they need it most.
Thank You to the Organisers
A huge thank-you to everyone involved in planning and delivering such a successful event. Your dedication to improving the well-being of children and young people makes a real difference in our community.
