Children in Need 2023

Friday 17th November 2023 hosts the 2023 BBC Children in Need Day, and this year’s theme is “The Great SPOTacular Appeal Night”!

What Children in Need means to NIDAS

As a charity, we rely on the support and generosity from a variety of funders. We are extremely fortunate to have received Children in Need (CIN) funding and have done for a number of years. CIN funding is extremely important to us, not just because of the funding provided, but because as a charity they are very much in line with the values of NIDAS CIN take a creative approach when supporting small charities and they give us the opportunity to be imaginative in our approach to ensure we provide the support children and young people need.

The funding that we receive enables us to support children and young people in a way that is creative, person-centred, and empowering.

Our Children’s Outreach support focuses on helping children to:

  • Build their understanding of healthy relationships and personal safety
  • Explore and identify emotions
  • Develop healthy coping strategies
  • Grow in confidence and self-esteem

How can I support Children in Need?

The Great SPOTacular Appeal Night focuses on how everyone can get involved, from raising awareness to fundraising.

2.Follow in the footsteps of your favourite celebrity by recreating nostalgic childhood school photos and uploading them to social media.

Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill, England Lionesses Chloe Kelly, Demi Stokes, Leah Williamson OBE and Presenter and YouTube sensation, Harry Pinero have all recreated their own childhood photos to encourage teachers and children across the UK to raise money for the charity this year.
